  How do I enrol in a course if I am a new student?
  If you have never taken a course with IFSE.ca:
  1. From the homepage click the button Become a Student.
  2. Supply all mandatory fields (indicated by a * next to the field) and click Save to create your profile.
  3. Allow a few minutes for your temporary password to be emailed to you.
  4. Once you have your temporary password, return to the log in screen and continue with step 4 below.
  How do I enrol in a course if I have taken a course in the past?
  If you have taken a course with IFSE.ca in the past:

You will need your username, password and student number to log in. If you do not have this information, please contact Education Services at 1-888-865-2437 to receive it.
  1. From the homepage click on the button I am a Student.
  2. Key in your username and password and click on Login.
  3. Key in your student number and click on Login.
  4. Select Enrol in a Course located on the menu on the left side of the screen.
  5. If you have a contract number click on the Yes button and enter the contract number and password. Otherwise, select No if you do not have a contract number.
  6. Click on the button Description beside each program name to view a list of courses that belong to that program. Once you know the program, select the Choose or Register button.
  7. If you are registering into a program for the first time, please supply all mandatory fields (indicated by a * next to the field) to complete your personal profile.
  8. Select the course you wish to enrol in.
  9. Review the Terms and Conditions and accept to complete your enrolment.
  10. Verify all fees and click on Proceed to Payment.
  11. Confirm shipping information if applicable and click Next.
  12. Provide credit card information and click on Pay Now. A copy of the receipt will appear and can be printed for your records. The receipt will also be stored in your student record for future reference.
  How long do I have to complete a course?
 
To successfully complete the CIFC and LLQP course, you have three exam attempts or one year from the date of registration. To successfully complete all other IFSE courses, you have two exam attempts or one year from date of registration. IFSE courses allow two exam attempts to successfully complete the course or within one year from the registration. The 12 month enrolment period is effective for a period of 12 months from the date on which you register. This date is available by contacting Education Services.

If you are unsuccessful on the allotted exam attempts, you must enrol in the course at full cost. Please refer to the following table:

  How do I apply for a course extension?
 
Students who feel that they may not successfully complete their course by the end of their enrolment period may request a course extension for a $85 fee. Course extension requests can be made up to 14 calendar days prior to the end of their enrolment period under the following criteria:
  • before sitting an examination attempt or
  • 14 calendar days prior to a scheduled exam
  What happens if I fail my course?
 
Students, who do not successfully complete their course in the allotted examination attempts, will be required to re-enrol at the full course Member or non-Member rate.
  How do I cancel a course?
 
A student may request a course cancellation and receive a partial refund:
  • Paper-based course: if requested within 30 calendar days of registration and prior to any examination attempt
  • Web-based course: if requested within 15 calendar days of registration and prior to any examination attempt
Students must initiate a refund request through their virtual desktop at www.IFSE.ca. Students can select to cancel their course with or without returning the course manual. A student who chooses to cancel and not return the manual will receive an immediate partial refund of his or her course enrolment fees. A student who chooses to cancel and return the manual will receive a partial refund once the manual has been returned to IFSE.ca. Course manuals must be returned within thirty calendar days of initiating a course cancellation with partial refund.

A $75.00 administration fee will be applied to each course cancellation.
